Description
Over Engineered is a sandbox game inspired by the workings of Rube Goldberg machines. With 2 different modes, you can choose to solve premade puzzles using the machines provided, or build your very own contraptions. With the only goal is to make a larger contraption, there is no limit to the things you can build. Each sandbox game begins with a ball dropping from a spawner. The player must place and connect different mechanical parts to guide the ball across the map. As the ball moves, it gains value from tricks, combos, and the time it has remained alive. The player must design their world to maximize these values to unlock more elaborate and sophisticated machines. With increasing ball values, the player will unlock new machines to expand upon their system, allowing the player to push their designs further than ever.
History
Over Engineered began as a personal project meant to be developed and released over the course of a summer. This was quickly understood to not be the case. Through support of friends and mentors, I continued development to add new features, puzzles, and even an editor that will soon be public.
